Open Your Heart To Jesus Christ

Deacon Ministry

This Ministry serves as advisors to the Pastor in the welfare of the Church; assists in serving the Lord’s Supper and the ordinance of baptism; and provides leadership for other Church ministries. Deacons provide leadership and serve the Church family by visiting the sick, caring for members of the Church and the community.

Each Deacon must have a rapport with God; be convicted, redeemed, spirit filled, and baptized by immersion. He must also be conversant with the Holy Bible and be a sincere worshipper with an active prayer life. The Deacon must set examples of Christian living.

Procedure for becoming a member:

New members are selected by a committee of the Deacon Ministry and are voted upon by the Church. In addition to the Pastor, Deacons are the only ordained members of the Church.

Deaconess Ministry

This Ministry assists the Pastor and Deacons in carrying out the spiritual ministries of the Church. These women proclaim the gospel to believers and non-believers while caring for Church members and others in the community by leading the Church in the achievement of its mission.

The Deaconess provides for the spiritual and temporal needs of individuals; briefs and assists candidates for baptism; and prepare for the Lord’s Supper.

Procedure for becoming a member:

Women, who are redeemed, baptized by immersion, convicted, conversant with the Holy Bible, have a prayer life and are confident in matters of doctrine and personal faith with a high level of conduct may be considered for the office of Deaconess.

Verse of the Day
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: — 1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV)
